About the Artist

Professional artist, Robin Enneking, began her career at the ripe old age of  5 years old. Her earliest memory is of creating a pink panther out of construction paper. Her mom still has that little guy pressed in an old encyclopedia. She looks at him nearly every time she visits her parents in Topeka, KS.

Another tender memory is of her parents and paternal grandfather gathered in their kitchen, oil painting. She fondly recalls the smells of the oil paint and the mediums they used. Her grandfather, Roy Martin, was a talented artist and instructor, painting his way throughout Kansas, Colorado and South Texas. Robin's Grandfather passed  away in the 70's and she recently received a precious gift from her mom and dad, a set of brushes that had belonged to her grandfather with his fingerprints still impressed in the dried oil paint on the handle. She intends to preserve the brushes with several articles written about him in a shadow box.

When Robin was entering college she struggled with the best path to choose and her parents, always supportive, said "Do what makes you happy!" So, she pursued her love of art, achieving a Bachelor of Fine Art with an Education Certification for grades K-12 and a science certification K-5.

She was blessed enough to meet and fall in love with her husband, Ken while working for a farm supply company. They have one daughter, Ashley, who has begun her own artistic journey and is also very talented. Like Robin's Dad and Mom, her husband has always supported her pursuit of art.

Robin's husband further spurred her endeavors by helping to build a studio in their backyard. She works on commissioned pieces and show items from this dollhouse studio, complete with flower filled window boxes.

Currently, Robin is teaching adult students through Hobby Lobby on Mondays and working with residence of Emerald Bay on Wednesdays. She continues to enter local and national shows and has won numerous awards. Her art once hung in the Kansas State Legislative Chambers and she has collectors in  Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, and Texas.

Although, she is not a native Texan, she has been extremely happy since moving to Texas in 1994. Her husband's work has taken them from Kansas to Stephenville, Texas to Sherman, Texas and finally, in 2000 to Whitehouse, Texas where she currently lives. Besides creating her artwork, she is also an on-call associate with a local financial advisor. Robin has served the last three years as the Vice - President of the Palette of Roses Art League and she is a lifetime member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.
